In 2000 I published Starchild: a Re-Discovery of Stellar Wisdom’ It had taken ten years to write and encapsulated what I’d learned on the path up to and beyond Initiation into the Mysteries – it was a catharsis of all the jumbled and fragmentary magical and mystical information collected in the brain, purged and then … More Starchild I & II
“Welcome to Ignotus Books UK, previously known as Ignotus Press.
Ignotus Press was a small but significant publishing presence between 1997 and 2007, which specialised in occult subjects, such as ritual magic and mysticism and, in particular, Traditional British Old Craft and the Egyptian Mystery Tradition. All of the authors who wrote under the Ignotus banner were experienced practitioners and had antecedents proving their magical background and abilities.
Although Ignotus Press ended its publishing activities in 2007, some of its books have gone on to become classics, such as the Coarse Witchcraft series; Whittlewood by Suzanne Ruthven; Root & Branch: British Magical Tree Lore and The Hollow Tree by Melusine Draco; Coven Working, by Phillip Wright and Carrie West and Coven of the Scales – the Collected Writings of A R Clay-Egerton, compiled by Melusine Draco.
In 2020 we decided to resurrect the imprint, in the form of Ignotus Books UK; today there are many more easily available books on occult subjects than there were in the 1990s, but quantity hasn’t necessarily translated into quality. Our aim is to provide books that will provide authentic, reliable information and guidance to the genuine seeker, written by seasoned practitioners with proven antecedents. And, as in the past, our authors are willing to answer any questions arising from the content of their publications.
We are hoping to launch in the not too distant future, our Arcanum series of introductory titles based on the principle of the children’s ‘Ladybird’ books that introduced us to the nuggets of wisdom that often lasted a life-time. This new series has been specially structured to help genuine magical practitioners make an exploratory journey into areas that may be unfamiliar to them before investing in larger more costly books.”
